Trinidad State Beach

Family friendly Trinidad State Beach is a charming destination offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, scenic bluffs dotted with spruce trees, fabulous tide pools, and colorful wildflowers in the spring. An easy trail leads visitors through the woods to the beach, where searching for shells, watching for local wildlife and playing along the shore are favorite activities. Tucked in a secluded cove, just minutes away from Trinidad Village, this quiet beach is the perfect spot to spend a day exploring the great outdoors.

Visitor Facilities at Trinidad State Beach

College Cove

Visitors can take the short hike through the woods from Trinidad State Beach to reach this sheltered beach area. Lots of tidepools and rocks are perfect for exploring and the natural arch is a stunning addition to sightseeing at the beach. The hike to College Cove can be a challenge, so it could be difficult for small children.

    The best time to visit Trinidad State Beach is during low tide when the tidepools are revealed and you can see the animals that are normally hidden under water.

    Elk and Trinidad Head are fabulous spots to sightsee at Trinidad. They both offer fabulous views and overlook a sheltered cove, Trinidad harbor, the historic Trinidad Head Lighthouse, and a small island.
